OUT and STABLE

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 40:2

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

O-bservation:

Here King David describes what it felt like to be delivered from all his sin and shame by the Lord. He said he felt like he had been in a slimy pit of filth. He said Jesus lifted him out and set his footing on a rock and gave him stability.

A-pplication:

Have you ever felt like you were in so deep, to a place you had created through your own choices, that you didn’t think you’d ever get out? I know I sure have. At that point it really matters who you turn to. Often the very reason we end up in dirty, slimy places is because of the people we’ve listened to and trusted in. There comes a point when one is so messed up by the world that the only logical place to turn to is Jesus. Never think He won’t take you back. He’s waiting for you. If you’ll look up today, you will see the hand of Jesus reaching down to you. Reach up and let Him pull you to a place where you’re finally … “OUT and STABLE.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Not just once, but many times I’ve been in so deep I was embarrassed to look up. But You’ve always pulled me out. Thank You! Amen
