Our Call Is To Preach

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Mark 16:15

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

These words of Jesus were His Call to ALL disciples everywhere and forever. When He commanded the first disciples to go everywhere and preach, He was also commanding you and me. It’s on us NOW! “Our Call Is To Preach!”

This was not a suggestion; it was a command from God to His people. It wasn’t segmented between the really committed and the not so committed believers, NO, this was a call to all “Jesus Followers.” When our sons were small, I would pray with them each night individually and remind them that they would preach the gospel. I would then say, “I don’t know what you will do for a living, but whatever it is you will use it as a post from which to preach the gospel.” We have no options, we must preach, we have to preach, we will preach the Good News as long as we live. Why? Because “Our Call Is To Preach.”

Dear Jesus,

I will forever lay meddling aside and stick with preaching. I know You have called me to preach! Amen

Today’ s devo was very good because this is what gets me out of my comfort zone. This is the part that I don’t want to hear. I would dare to say that I and most of the church just want to hear feel good messages and nothing that has to do with stepping out into the world and preaching. In order to preach, we must study the word and apply it, face rejection, persecution, fear, etc. We focus on the work and the hard parts more than on the fact that the holy spirit is in us and that Jesus is with us. When you read the letters of Paul, preaching came with a price and that could mean suffering. Fear and an unwillingness to work to learn are my obstacles. I’m working in a business and it’s much like preaching. The business is network marketing. Here you go out into the world and speak to complete strangers and that alone is enough to freeze you up.
