Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Romans 13:12
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
O-bservation:
St. Paul reminded the Church at Rome, and he reminds all of us today, that salvation is near at hand. That salvation, of course, is the Coming of the Lord. In the previous verse, he told us that it’s closer now than when we first believed. Because of this, the Apostle told us we should disrobe ourselves of anything pertaining to “The Night,” and instead dress ourselves with the “Armor of the Light.”
A-pplication:
The devil’s kingdom operates in the darkness, while the Kingdom of God operates in the light. They are as different as “Night And Day.” Paul tells us that decent living and dress occurs in the daytime, while the activities of the night lend themselves to the flesh. He mentioned carousing, drunkenness, sexual immorality, debauchery, dissension, and jealousy. Those are clothes of the flesh, adorned at night. But the “Armor of Light” is to be worn “Night And Day.” Paul mentioned these clothes in Ephesians 6:14–17. They include: The Belt of Truth, The Breastplate of Righteousness, The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, The Shield of Faith, The Helmet of Salvation, and The Sword of The Spirit, which is The Word of God! See what I mean by … “Night and Day?
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for another beautiful AM, and that I can serve you “Night And Day!” Help me live with the same spiritual clothing in the Night as You help me wear during the Day. Amen
