Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 3:1
One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon.
O-bservation:
Jewish tradition had people praying at the third, sixth, and ninth hours of the day. Most theologians believe that this carried over into the Christian world at that time. Here, Peter and John head to the Temple to pray at three in the afternoon. This was a daily, routine time of prayer for them.
A-pplication:
It appears that no posters or newscasts of any kind had been used to promote a potential healing crusade on the day that Peter and John went to the temple to pray. It was just their daily routine. In the course of their daily routine of faithfully praying, God used them to heal a lame man. Too often we assume that if we have the right feel, and look, and marketability, along with a strong promotional team, we can somehow be used of God. But more often than not it’s in the daily routine that someone is helped by people who follow Jesus. This passage of scripture reminds us that, “Miracles Happen During Our Daily Routines.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With Your help, today I will move forward to serve You in my “Daily Routines.” I trust I will experience a miracle along the way. Amen
