S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 24:12
Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.”
O-bservation:
This is the prayer of Eliezer, the servant of Abraham. Abraham, in his old age, had asked Eliezer to go and find a wife for his son Isaac. Before Eliezer left on his journey he prayed, “Lord, Make Me Successful.”
A-pplication:
This prayer lasted for a couple more verses, but it wasn’t a long prayer. If you read this story, everything happened perfectly for Eliezer. God totally made him successful. Don’t get me wrong, nine times out of ten nothing happens as perfectly as happened in this story. However, I wonder what would happen if we all simply prayed before we went into action? It doesn’t even have to be an hour long prayer. It could be as simple as Eliezer prayed, “Lord Make Me Successful.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I have many challenges in front of me. I know my prayer is never a bother for You, however I won’t make it long. “Lord, Make Me Successful.” Amen
