Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Leviticus 25:4
But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest, a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.
O-bservation:
Here we see The Lord speaking to Moses concerning a law the people were to observe. In Genesis, the Bible tells us that the Lord created everything in six days and rested on the seventh. Now, the Lord tells us that even the land is supposed to have a Sabbath rest every seven years. Can you imagine the Lord ordering us to let the land “Just Chill”?
A-pplication:
I once heard someone say if we don’t come apart with Jesus for solitude and rest we will “Come Apart!” There’s something about rest that restores anyone or anything called upon to produce something. The air conditioner in my house cools the room to a certain temperature, then shuts off with a sensor. Then, when the room heats up the sensor kicks in and the AC comes back on. The AC can’t continuously run or it will burn up. I understand we’re talking about a motor and not a living thing, but if that’s true of a motor imagine the impact on a living thing. If land is supposed to “Just Chill” for a whole year after seven years of producing food, certainly we humans must obey the Lord once a week and “Just Chill” for a whole day. It will do a body good.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m thankful that your orders keep me ordered. I’m thankful for rest. Give my family and friends rest today I pray. Amen

I’ve been working seven days since October 2016. I feel like my life is spinning out of control. I must do something to change this.
