It’s Time To Come Home

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Lamentations 3:40

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

O-bservation:

These words were most likely spoken by the Prophet Jeremiah. He had predicted the fall of Judah to the Babylonians because of the people’s sin, and now that it had happened and they had lost EVERYTHING, he implored the people to return to the Lord.

A-pplication:

Sin and rebellion carries its own consequences. It has always been the Mission of God to bless His people, but His blessing cannot reside upon sin and waywardness. Time and time again, throughout the annals of history, God has sent His prophets to warn His people of their waywardness. Often they ignored His pleading. When they did they faced the consequences, and God would show up again to say “It’s Time To Come Home.” In other words, it’s time to TURN from one’s waywardness and RETURN to Jesus. Thousands of years have passed, but not much has changed. It’s time to wake up … “It’s Time To Come Home.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking this AM that You would help me be like the shepherd who is not satisfied that the 99 are in the pen, but searches for the one who is lost. Help me bring the broken home. Amen
