Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Ephesians 3:7
I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.
O-bservation:
St. Paul was very forthright in affirming the fact that it was by the grace of God that he was called to preach. Not only that, but Paul adamantly reported, “It’s Not MY Power, But HIS Power” that has made it all happen.
A-pplication:
We live in a time when all attention seems to be on personalities. Whether it’s politics, or entertainment, or news media, or even the Church, it’s personality driven. Certainly God has called and placed a mantle of LEADERSHIP on men and women in each field of endeavor. However, unusual challenges appear when humans take all the credit for the good that is happening. This is done with an air of … “I am a fabulous leader.” The truth is, it has little to do with my ability and everything to do with God’s smile of favor on me or anyone else. Yes, we must be prepared and we must be faithful to the charge that is placed upon us, but we must NEVER FORGET … “It’s Not MY Power, But HIS Power” that makes it all happen.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m asking You this AM, why in the world do I sometimes revert back to thinking … “Look What I Did?” I’m so prone to give myself the glory. This AM I remember that it’s not me at all, but it’s Your favor on me. “It’s Not MY Power, But It’s YOUR Power!” Amen
