S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 1:2
Until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.
O-bservation:
The book of Acts was written by St. Luke, a medical doctor by trade and a serious writer and historian as well. He begins the book by saying that he had witnessed everything Jesus had done in His ministry right up until He gave the Holy Spirit instructions for the apostles.
A-pplication:
Anything that is ever accomplished in this life has a set of “INSTRUCTIONS” attached to it. Whether it’s building a house, or home, or business, or an organization, or a car for that matter, one needs INSTRUCTIONS. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Jesus left the INSTRUCTIONS with for the Apostles to build the Church of Jesus Christ here on this earth. It didn’t just happen, it was and continues to be accomplished by following the Holy Spirit’s INSTRUCTIONS. Whatever you do, make sure you follow the INSTRUCTIONS!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You this AM for sending the Holy Spirit. Without His “INSTRUCTIONS,” I would surely fail. Amen
Comment (1)
This is true regarding “instructions” and we all should rely on it to be the blueprints for our everyday living because Jesus said that He will request of the Father to send a “Comforter.” In other words, the Holy Spirit is a “Comforter” and “Teacher” (John 16:7, 13). So therefore, the Holy Spirit is the believer’s advocate (Gk. parakletos, lit. “one called alongside “; John 14:16). In essences, the Holy Spirit gives the believer help and advice for living the Christian life. On the other hand, the believer must surrender their lives to God and allow the Holy Spirit to instruct them.
This message was a great blessing, and an entourage to my “Thoughts for Today’s” Bible reading.
God’s Blessings to you and yours…
