Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Revelation 5:12
In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”
O-bservation:
St. John the Apostle, in his vision of heaven, saw tens of thousands of angelic beings, living creatures, and humans circling the throne of Almighty God and giving praise to Jesus in eternity. Jesus is often referred to as the “Lamb” in the New Testament because He was slain (crucified) once for all for the sins of humankind. And as was stated earlier, a multitudinous host of creatures and beings, right now, are giving eternal praise to Jesus, 24-7, even as I write.
A-pplication:
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, St. Paul said that God has given Jesus a name that is above every other name (Phil. 2:9,10,11). That name is Lord. And at that name every knee shall bow and confess that Jesus is Lord. And evidently this is what happens all the time in heaven. Here on earth, we are all about work and getting the job done. In many churches, people don’t even show up until the worship and praise has been refrained and the preaching has begun. As if anything we mortals could say to each other would be more important than “All the Praise” we could be giving Jesus. If all the POWER resides in heaven, and all day long in heaven they’re praising Jesus … Is it any wonder why we’re so WEAK here on earth? For whatever it’s worth, and as The Lord helps me … my life will always be lived … “In Praise of Jesus.”
P-rayer:
