I’m A Believer

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Ezra 6:12

May God, who has caused his Name to dwell there, overthrow any king or people who lifts a hand to change this decree or to destroy this temple in Jerusalem. I Darius have decreed it. Let it be carried out with diligence.

These are the words of King Darius of Persia and Babylon. He sent a decree to anyone who would oppose Ezra, the priest. He said if they opposed these men and the Jewish workers rebuilding Jerusalem, they would be opposing their king.

What’s amazing about this story is that King Darius was from Persia. Persia, of course, is modern day Iran! Can you imagine what would happen if the Iranian President and the Ayatollah were to say we now believe in the Lord God Almighty? King Darius had watched God preserve Daniel’s life in the lion’s den. When Daniel came out, Darius declared Daniel’s God to be the one true God. I believe Darius had heard of so many miracles that Daniel was a part of during the seventy years of Israel’s captivity in Babylon that he decided … “I’m A Believer!”

Dear Jesus,

If I never see another miracle, I’m A Believer Too. Amen
