I’ll Take Care Of My Mango Tree

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Proverbs 27:18

The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored.

Solomon said, “Any and everything that is important to us must be cared for. That’s true of fruit trees and important for leadership in our lives.”

We don’t own a fig tree, but soon after we arrived in Miami years ago we planted a mango tree in our back yard. A nice lady always cared for it and it provided way too many mangos. In 2005, hurricane Wilma snapped it. But the lady was able to replant it. And it began to grow. Then she moved. I’ve never done a thing for that mango tree and it hasn’t provided us with one mango. It’s alive, but not producing. Leaders are like that. They must be surrounded by people who care for them, encourage them, and pray for them. They have the potential of providing for so many people. BUT, who takes care of them? I believe that’s where you and I can help hold them up. By the way, from now on “I’ll Take Care Of My Mango Tree.”

Dear Jesus,

Help me love and care for “My Leaders” today. Amen
