S-cripture:

2 Corinthians 10:17

But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

O-bservation:

St. Paul was admonishing the believers in Corinth not to measure their works against each other’s. But, he said “If You Must,” boast in what Jesus has done.

A-pplication:

Do you ever get tired of reading someone else’s biographical sketch? Or, how about when you’re at a dinner or conference and the main presenter is introduced? Oh man, just listening to their accolades, that most certainly they’ve personally written, can put a person to sleep. Of course that doesn’t happen until the guy actually starts speaking. The Apostle says, “Hey you’re a ‘Jesus Follower.’ You’re bigger than that. Don’t get involved in that Christian competition thing. On the other hand, ‘If You Must,’ just boast about Jesus. That’s Who all your competitors are really in need of anyway.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m so proud of You this AM, I can’t think of anyone else to talk about. Amen
