Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Mark 8:33
But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
O-bservation:
When Jesus told His disciples that He was going to be crucified soon and then would raise from the dead three days later, Peter rebuked Him. Jesus then called Peter out and told him that he didn’t have the concerns of God in mind, just “Human Concerns.”
A-pplication:
Sometimes the concerns of heaven have to do with doing the “Hard Thing” now in hopes of “Better Things” to come down the road. Jesus told Peter that in order for that to happen, one has to have the concerns of God. Instead, most of us live with “Human Concerns” only. Questions like “How does this impact me?” are paramount in the life of the “Human Concerns” only person. Today, with Jesus’ help, ask the Lord for “God’s Concerns” instead of the usual “Human Concerns” we all battle.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
More than anything else today I want to be concerned with the things of God. Help me, please! Amen
