S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 26:28
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?”
O-bservation:
King Agrippa was the Roman king who oversaw the region St. Paul lived in. Paul had appealed his case as a Roman citizen to Rome, but first he had to present his case to Agrippa. When he finished, Paul asked Agrippa if he believed what he had said. Agrippa, in arrogant fashion said, “Do you really think you can get me to believe in Jesus, just like that?”
A-pplication:
There will always be people who believe they are bigger than the gospel. And if they were to believe, you’d have to try a lot harder than to just give them your personal testimony. But sharing the gospel is like trolling the deep sea for fish. Some will bite and others aren’t interested. Remember though, we must never quit fishing for men and women to come to Jesus. There will be “Big Deals” like Agrippa along the way who believe they’re more important than anyone else. But if you will just remain faithful, in time your nets will be filled with more souls than you can imagine. That makes Having To Put Up With BIG DEALS worth it. In the end we’re still reading Paul, and Agrippa is never mentioned again. Sad!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’ve got my mind on one thing. Just keep fishing for my Lord. I don’t care who they are on the world’s totem poles of success, just help me fish today. Amen
