Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Mark 1:35
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
O-bservation:
This is a statement concerning the life of Jesus that was also reported by the other Gospel writers who knew Him. Jesus was an early riser. He discovered the mornings to be a time of solitude wherein He could commune with His Father.
A-pplication:
I personally find no other time than the early morning is sufficient to provide me with the solitude I need to spend with Jesus in prayer. Rarely do I have a call waiting or an urgent text to answer. No, it’s just Jesus and me and the sunrise. Prayer is the generator of my life, my family, and the life of the church in general. Even though I never hear the audible voice of the Lord, I am convinced each day that He has heard my prayer and He will answer it. There is a sense I have each morning that I got off on the right track again because I’ve spoken to my Creator. There are days, obviously, when it doesn’t happen and I pray at other times, but once again prayer works best for me when I pray like Jesus did. “First Thing In The Morning.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I love talking with You. I’m thankful that You’re available 24 hours a day, but the early morning feels more to me like “OUR” time! Thank You Lord! Amen

Thank you for this reminder. I find that when I meet with the Lord first thing before anything else, my day is more God focused, as I have asked Him to order my steps and my day.
