S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Colossians 2:21
Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!
O-bservation:
St. Paul warned the Church at Colossae, a city in modern Turkey, to beware of religions that promote a “Do Not” theology. Later Paul said these come from human laws that, in time, will all perish.
A-pplication:
When I read this verse as a stand alone verse, I can see St Paul’s frustration with religion. Christ has offered freedom from all the rules of “Religiosity” through His sacrificial death and subsequent resurrection, and people are still wanting to know how to do religion properly! The sad thing is, nothing seems to have changed. I often hear of one group of people who break off from another group because they do such and such, and they “Do Not” do that! So many religious groups are known for what they “Do Not” do. Jesus said, “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” The whole of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5-7 are about how to “Do Life” with others. “Followers Of Jesus” are most attractive when they are actually “Doing,” instead of being part of the “Do Not” group!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I remember that it was said of You that You … “Went about doing good!” That’s how I want to be. I need Your help today. Amen

I love this Pr. Rich! Tell it like it is brother! Others would probably agree with me when I say… You’ve always had a passion for Paul and I have developed that same passion for the great apostle. There’s something extra that comes out in you when you preach about him.
Love Ya Pr Rich!
