Your Testimony Will Outlive You
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Peter 1:18
We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.
O-bservation:
These are the words of St. Peter, who recounted the word that came from heaven when he and James and John were on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus. Peter said, “While we were there with Him a voice came from heaven saying, ‘This is my Son whom I love, and with Him, I am well pleased.’” Peter was telling his listeners, “Trust me, I was there!”
A-pplication:
This was just part of Peter’s life testimony. Peter’s testimony is continued not only in the gospels but also in the book of Acts. The truth is, Peter’s testimony outlived his life. I’m not sure if Peter knew when he was writing these words and recounting his testimony that they would be read over 2,000 years later by people like me, reading the scriptures this AM from Fresno, California. But I do know that as he wrote, he felt the unction of the Holy Spirit. I know this because any time I tell my testimony to someone else or write it in an article or book, I always feel an anointing come upon me. It’s most likely true that until today, I have not been able to explain the anointing I experience when I share my testimony. But here’s what I just realized; I feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit whenever I share my testimony because I know this one thing. “My Testimony Will Outlive me!” If this is true for me, then it’s true for you as well. So get to telling folks what the Lord has done for you, because “Your Testimony Will Outlive You.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Knowing what I know now help me share my testimony every chance I get! Amen
