Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
This is an amazing revelation by John the Beloved. Here he lets us all in on a fact that the entire disciple band must have witnessed and discussed behind Judas’ back. Judas accused Jesus of allowing Mary to waste money by pouring her expensive oil on his feet and washing them, while poor people were in need. Yet John said, “He didn’t care about the poor, he wanted the expensive oil sold to stock the money bag that he kept the disciples’ funds in so he could take whatever he wanted when he wanted to.”
Here’s what I’ve learned in my life. If a person has a problem with money, they always talk about money. And they often say, “Listen, it’s not about the money.” But “When They Say It’s Not About The Money, It’s About The Money.” If a person is always talking about sex, they have a problem with sex. Whatever they talk about is usually what they have a problem with. Judas had a problem with money. He was around it, he held it, he collected it, he dispensed it, he talked about it. He sold the Lord for thirty pieces of silver, felt bad about it, gave the money back to the priests, and killed himself. The priests bought a field and buried him in what they called The Potter’s Field. As I said, Judas had a real problem with the love of money. So remember, “When They Say It’s Not About The Money, It’s About The Money.”
I love You! I like that money can be used to help win people to You. But I love You. You are my joy, my discussion, my research, my prayer time, You are my everything. For me, it’s about YOU! Amen
