When It Gets So Bad You Wanna Curse!
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Job 3:1
After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
O-bservation:
When Job heard on the same day that his business, his livestock, and his employees were all gone or killed and that all of his children were killed while feasting at the oldest brother’s home, he tore his clothes and wept and still gave God praise. But then a few days later, he was stricken by sores and told by his wife to curse God and die. At that point, this verse tells us that Job opened his mouth and cursed the day he was born.
A-pplication:
I suppose all of us have had a day so bad that we wanted to curse the day we were born. With God’s help I’ve managed to stay away from cursing, but this is a different deal. Perhaps Job had never really ever cursed in his life, but the pressures became so insurmountable that he broke. “When It Gets So Bad You Wanna Curse,” maybe you could keep these thoughts in your wheelhouse. #1- For the “Follower of Jesus,” we believe that everything happens for a reason. Whether it was an attack from hell or a test from the Lord, there is a divine reason that will elevate us and bring glory to God. #2- Whatever the devil means for bad against us God will turn around for our good. Those were the words of Joseph to his brothers and it still holds true today. So, with the help of the Lord and these two biblical principals, let the blessings be uttered before the curse can get a foothold.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I will bless the Lord at ALL TIMES! That’s what I’m holding to this AM. Amen
