What Would YOU Ask For?

S-cripture:
2 Chronicles 1:7
That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.
O-bservation:
King David had died, and King Solomon had been firmly established as king over Israel at 20 years of age. Earlier that day, Solomon had addressed all of Israel and the commanders over the armies of Israel. He then went to the bronze altar in the tent of meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it. Later that evening, God spoke to Solomon and said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”
A-pplication:
Obviously, Solomon started his kingly duties in such a way that it pleased the Lord. He came to the young man that night and made Solomon a promise that He would give him anything he asked for. Solomon asked for WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE. God was so pleased with this answer that He told Solomon He would give him wisdom and knowledge, but also great wealth. All of this came to pass in time. The question lies before us today. If God said to you, “ask for whatever it is you want of Me, and I will give it to you,” What Would YOU Ask For? That’s an interesting question because it’s not a question any of us have been asked by the Lord the way Solomon was asked. Certainly, there have been people since Solomon that God made the same offer to, but we don’t know of them. I hope God could trust me with the right answer if He asked me, but once again, “What Would YOU Ask For?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Being in the position he was in at such a young age, maybe Solomon asked for the right things because he was so scared of his new position. Maybe he was more desperate for wisdom to lead than he was for money. Whatever the answer is to this amazing response of Solomon, help me today to answer whatever it is that you’re asking of me correctly. Amen
