Trust And Obey, For There’s No Other Way

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Daniel 3:28

Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

These are the words of King Nebuchadnezzar after seeing three young, Hebrew men walk out of a fiery furnace unscathed by the fire or smoke. The king said they had trusted and obeyed their God rather than yield to any man-made god.

I was so fortunate as a boy to be raised in a home where my parents taught me about how to respond to Jesus. It was simply to “Trust And Obey, For There’s No Other Way.” In fact, that was the theme of a little chorus we would sing in Dad’s church growing up. Seriously, the story of the three Hebrew young men would be taught on the flannel board and then we would sing that little chorus. Is it any wonder why now, some six decades later, I’m still rolling with that theme? If you’ve never considered it before, you can start to serve Jesus in a whole new way today. “Trust And Obey, For There’s No Other Way.”

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m once again re-upping with the way I started my life as a boy. I’ve found that You have never failed me, and the only time my life didn’t go well was when I failed to “Trust And Obey” You. Once again, Jesus, I’m here to say I’m all in! Amen
