This Is For Everyone And Especially Pastors
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Thessalonians 1:2
We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.
O-bservation:
St. Paul, in addressing the young church in Thessalonica, made it very clear that he and all the disciples were continually thanking God for them and daily remembering each one of them in their prayers. If you’re wondering who this verse was written for, wonder no more, “This Is For Everyone And Especially Pastors.”
A-pplication:
Before we ever try to go deep into our Christian faith, it’s first necessary to establish some of the basics of the Christian Faith. I’m not prepared to go wide in this short devo, I’m just giving a couple of basics. Paul gives them right here in this passage. We are to remember all of our Christian brothers and sisters worldwide by simply THANKING God for each of them every day, and then by PRAYING to God for them every day. Now if that’s what every believer is to do, what should every Pastor do? Here’s the answer … “THE SAME THING!” He or she is to thank God for, and pray for, every person in their congregation. Remember, Paul was writing to the congregation of the church in Thessalonica. He said, “We’re all thanking God for and praying for each of you every day.” Prayer changes things. We know that, and we must practice this simple truth. “This Is For Everyone And Especially Pastors!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I want to thank You for, and pray for, every person in my congregation. I also want to thank You and pray for every one of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ the world over. Amen
