The Question Remains!
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 8:25a
“Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.
O-bservation:
Jesus was sleeping in a boat on the Sea of Galilee when a huge storm arose on the lake. His disciples were at a place of complete despair when they woke, Him saying, “Jesus help us we’re going to drown!” Immediately Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the waves, and everything calmed down. He then looked at the disciples and asked them, “Where is your faith?”
A-pplication:
I can’t remember the number of times in my life when I screamed out to Jesus and said, “Jesus help me. I’m about to die!” Be honest, you’ve said it too. Or “Jesus help me. I need to pass this test.” Or “Jesus, I need money before Tuesday.” Or “My baby’s sick, and I need a miracle right now!” All of us come up against circumstances that, at the time, seem insurmountable. Be it sickness, finances, relationships, direction, or just plain fear of people and fear of failing; we have problems. That’s when we must include our loving savior Jesus. Yet something happened in this story that was more than a cry for help. They cried because they were afraid Jesus would let them drown. Nothing was further from the truth. Their cry simply meant they had yielded to FEAR, and that’s why Jesus first calmed the storm then asked the question, “Where’s You Faith?” Not much has changed today. “The Question Remains,” where’s your faith?
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m asking this AM that You would strengthen my faith. I don’t want to be that disciple who always believes You will fail me when I need You most. Please, Lord, strengthen my faith! Amen
