The PEACE Of Faith
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 47:5-6
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Your father and your brothers have come to you, and the land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and your brothers in the best part of the land. Let them live in Goshen. And if you know of any among them with special ability, put them in charge of my own livestock.”
O-bservation:
These are the words of the Pharaoh who ruled Egypt at the time that Joseph, Jacob’s son, had served him as second in command of the nation. Joseph’s father and brothers had been reunited with him. Because Joseph had saved Egypt with his ability to interpret and administrate the dream God had given Pharaoh, the King was willing to do whatever it took to reward Joseph. After all that Joseph had been through, he was now being rewarded by God with “The PEACE Of Faith.”
A-pplication:
When you consider the idea of FAITH, many different adjectives could be used to preface the word. Words like Tough, Perseverance, Victorious, Unyielding. But all of those words are required to achieve “The PEACE Of Faith.” In the end, Faith should provide PEACE to the one who operates in Faith. Joseph and his brothers had been through a type of hell the brothers had originated by their jealous decision to sell their little brother into slavery. But, because Joseph would not let go of FAITH, in the end his entire family experienced PEACE. We’ll both have to fight for it, but you and I will also find PEACE as long as we stay faithful.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m not looking for PEACE. I know how it comes to each of us. Please help me stay full of FAITH to continually enjoy the PEACE that passes all understanding. Amen
