Take Care Of Those Who Serve You

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Nehemiah 12:47

So in the days of Zerubbabel and of Nehemiah, all Israel contributed the daily portions for the musicians and the gatekeepers. They also set aside the portion for the other Levites, and the Levites set aside the portion for the descendants of Aaron.

Nehemiah told us that in his day, and under his leadership, all of Israel took care of the financial needs of those who served them when it came to the ministry. Musicians and administrators and priests and the very offspring of Aaron himself, who had died circa 900 years earlier! All of these were different ministers taken care of financially during the time of Nehemiah and the Governor of Judah named Zerubbabel.

Please believe me when I say that I rarely talk about financially blessing the ministry leaders and servants of the Lord in this daily devotional. The reason being, “I AM ONE!” Yet it is discussed both in the Old and New Testaments, and I must be true the Word of the Lord. But let me say that the people my wife and I have served at this writing for over forty-seven years have more than taken care of us. Perhaps, however, you read this daily post and don’t even know me. It’s really you I’m addressing this word to today. Here’s what I want to say. When it comes to taking care of servants of the Lord, always be generous. Please don’t be stingy. I know there’s always the question about, “Well, what if they squander the funds I give?” Don’t let that be on you. When you are generous, you’re doing it unto the Lord anyway. God will bless you. That’s why I always say, “Take Care Of Those Who Serve You.”

Dear Jesus,

I’m so grateful for the people You have placed in my life who have supported the ministry You gave my wife and me to serve You and Your people with. I ask this AM that You would help me “Take Care Of Those Who Have Served My Family” also. Amen
