Sometimes Jesus Comes Sooner Than Later

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

O-bservation:

In this chapter, Paul told us of the true nature and authority of an Apostle. During his dialogue, he admonished those who would be quick to judge because none of us know the real thoughts and intents of a person’s heart. He said to wait until the coming of the Lord when everyone will receive their just reward.

A-pplication:

The world is still battling Covid-19 as of this writing. The USA has a new president, it would appear, and he has vowed to do whatever it takes to stop this virus. That could mean an extended time of continued quarantine in this country. During this season, I’ve learned that the BEST is being exposed in people’s lives, and so is the WORST! Some who have endeavored to cover private, ongoing sin have been exposed to the surprise of many! Entire lives and those of one’s family have been revealed, and a family is left devastated. Yet when we read this passage, most would say, “Never worry about the judgment of God until He returns to rapture His church. At that point, everyone will receive their just due.” Yet even though this passage probably is speaking of the great Judgment Day, it’s also true that “Sometimes Jesus Comes Sooner Than Later.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I give you my heartfelt word this AM that with Your help, I will judge no man or woman. I will wait for Your return. With that said, I also realize that You come sooner than later for some, to judge in a moment when none thought You would. Help me be ready. Amen
