Silenced No More!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Psalm 107:2

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe.

King David was surely God Almighty’s greatest cheerleader. He had led Israel’s armies on so many adventures and had seen so many divine interventions on their behalf that he was always ready to champion how great God is. Here he says, “Let those who have been saved by God say something about it.”

One of the most alarming things from my point of view that has happened during this pandemic and with the world still living behind closed doors is the “Cancel Culture” movement. Everything we have thought before and championed before must now be reconsidered, and instead of folks demanding honest and civil debate, in fear, they have chosen silence. But the one thing that will end our nation’s hope once and for all is if we “Christ Followers” allow our story of Jesus’ saving grace to be silenced. Yet how can I be silenced? He saved me, healed me, delivered me from certain death, and revived me on so many occasions. He gave me a helpmate and children and grandchildren and friends and a place to stay. He has given me friends and associates and prayer partners and a mission. This space is so limited that I cannot tell it all. So, therefore, I will conclude by saying, I will be “Silenced No More!”

Dear Jesus,

Help me be Your follower today to the point of losing everything I have so I may win You! I know that it’s easy to be brave in these morning private musings, sheltered in with You. Somehow, I know the day is coming where we will need to come out of our dwelling places to shout it from the housetops. Even then, I will trust in You. Amen
