Seek Him In The Morning
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 5:3
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
O-bservation:
Here, King David, the monarch of Israel, spoke of his most profitable time in communion with His Heavenly Father. David said that it was in the morning that he regularly laid his requests before the Lord. David believed that it was in the morning that God really heard his prayers.
A-pplication:
I think that you and I both agree that God, our Heavenly Father, hears our prayers 24/7. It makes no difference when we pray. We have an assurance that our God never sleeps nor slumbers (Ps.121:1). Yet, perhaps it is true that for David, early morning was the time HE (DAVID) felt the least bothered by other people and could truly be alone with his “Maker” and communicate. What am I saying? Maybe it’s not God at all but you and me who truly struggle to find a quiet and alone time with Almighty God in prayer. He is always ready to communicate with us. He said in Isaiah 1:18a, “Come now let us reason together.” What is God saying you and me? I believe He’s saying, “Let’s Talk!” He is unlimited and everywhere at the same time. He can hear the prayers of millions and respond as if we are the only people He knows. But because you and I get bogged down with stuff. Stuff like tasks and business and volumes of people, maybe, just maybe, we should both “Seek Him In The Morning.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Well, here I am early again. I believe King David was onto something. It’s good to talk with You in the morning. Amen
