Salvation Celebration
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Hebrews 2:3
How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
O-bservation:
The writer of the book of Hebrews asked a question for those living both on that day and today. He asked, “After hearing of the story of Jesus’ salvation and ignoring it, how will any of us escape the judgment of God?” This amazing freedom was first announced to us by the Lord himself, in Matthew 4:17.
A-pplication:
Since the earliest times in Jesus’ ministry, He told us of this great Salvation. Then came Paul the Apostle, as well as the disciples of Jesus. They, too, told of this great Salvation. Then down through the history of two thousand years of Christianity, this great Salvation unto eternal life has been preached and promoted, many times costing those preaching this gospel their very lives. Today in America, in the most troubled of times, we are breaking for the July 4th Celebration. This celebration is about the celebration of freedom from the British in 1776. I can remember these July 4th celebrations since I can remember being alive. Yet, more important to me is the “Salvation Celebration.” This passage reminds us that if we fail to accept Jesus’ offer of Salvation, nothing else we do in life matters. So celebrate today all you want, but remember at the end of the day your “Salvation Celebration.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m reminded that far more important than this country in which I am blessed to live is the sacrifice You paid so that I could enter Salvation both now and for eternity. Today I will remember my “Salvation Celebration.” Amen
