Our Promised Savior

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Micah 5:2

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

Micah, the prophet, could not possibly have understood the historical ramifications of this short prophecy. But here, in one fell swoop, he prophesies that Jesus, the savior of the world, would be born out of Bethlehem. He said that this little town of Bethlehem was small among the clans of Judah, yet from Bethlehem the ruler of the universe, Jesus Christ the Lord, would arise.

Each day since 2012, I have written this SOAP Devotional from a reading list of usually four chapters, some each from the Old and New Testaments. This all comes from “The Life Journal,” written by my friend Wayne Cordero, which contains a daily reading list that takes you through the entire Bible in one year. From the four chapters he has assigned for each day, I choose a verse that stands out to me and I write about it that day. Two months ago, my friend Steve Munsey and I put it on the calendar to travel this week to Bethlehem. Today we are traveling from Ramallah, in Palestine, where we have had incredible meetings with leaders at the highest levels of the Palestinian Authority concerning a vision that the Lord gave Steve and me, to the wonderful birthplace of our Lord, Bethlehem. Can you imagine that Micah 5:2 is on my reading list TODAY!! God willing, we will share the same vision with the Mayor of Bethlehem. And yes, we will also be speaking with the Mayor about “Our Promised Savior!” Please pray!

Dear Jesus,

You do ALL THINGS well! Amen
