Our God Will Give Us Success

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Nehemiah 2:20

I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.”

O-bservation:

Two men who were not Jewish were living in Jerusalem while the Jewish exiles living in Babylon began making their way back home. Sanballat and Tobiah thought they had a rightful claim to Jerusalem. They did not. When Nehemiah came back as the new governor of Jerusalem with strict orders from King Artaxerxes of Persia, they tried to convince Nehemiah that they should be included in his plan. But Nehemiah said, “That won’t happen. You have no part in this plan. Besides, ‘Our God Will Give Us Success!”

A-pplication:

Nehemiah came back from Babylon with a written directive from the king of Persia to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah knew God had given him the authority to do it the right way. The right way to do things, if you’re a man or woman of God, is to do it God’s way. God’s way will usually astound those around you because it’s based on the mission of God rather than Conventional Wisdom. The mission of God involves things like splitting the Red Sea and helping a boy knock down a ten-foot giant. When it came to rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, it wasn’t done with Conventional Wisdom. It was accomplished because Nehemiah really believed, “Our God Will Give Us Success!” Are you fully depending on the Lord today? That will always be the question walking out the door each day. Because if you are, your mindset each morning will always be, “Our God Will Give Us Success!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I realize that I’m always on a mission from You. Because I am, I know that my mission will not be accomplished with Conventional Wisdom. It will be because You bring me success as I follow You! Amen
