No Matter How Tough Life Gets, Stay With Jesus

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 20:5

The mirth of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.

O-bservation:

In commenting on the wicked, one of Job’s friends made a statement concerning the fleeting joys of the wicked. He said they only last for a moment.

A-pplication:

Happiness is a momentary thing for most of us anyway. But I’ve always believed that joy is a potentially lasting quality. I say potentially because it takes something more than outside stimuli to cause joy to last. Joy is something deeply rooted in one’s faith. The scripture says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Neh. 8:10c). It stands to reason then that if a person doesn’t know Jesus, happiness and mirth and joy are all passing feelings with no internal substance. That’s why it’s important to not only know Jesus, but also, “No Matter How Tough Life Gets, Stay With Jesus.” He’s the only one that brings an inner, lasting joy that never dies.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank you that the joy of the Lord is my inner strength this AM. I’m always amazed at the HOPE lasting joy continues to deliver in my life. Thank You Lord. Amen
