Never Make A CALL When You’re Feeling Down

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 14:1

Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble.

O-bservation:

These words came from Job, the man who experienced perhaps the biggest blow to one man ever recorded in history. In the very middle of his ordeal, he made this statement: “All of us humans live a relatively short life, and during that time frame, we experience continual trouble.”

A-pplication:

How is your life going? That’s not for me to know. That’s for you to take a brief inventory concerning. Here are some categories you may consider: Family? Faith? Friends? Finance? Calling? A few times in my life, I was struggling in every one of those categories. But, if I would have made a large and influential “CALL” on how life goes at ALL TIMES, it would have been inappropriate for me to say something like, “Life stinks all the time!” That’s what Job basically said in this verse. He was desperate. But if you had asked him how life goes a year before this statement, he probably wouldn’t have said this. I know that the Holy Spirit anoints every word in Scripture, but God certainly doesn’t want any of us to look at life like this. It is used here to show how bad life can get for a person who is being challenged; however,  “Never Make A CALL When You’re Feeling Down!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Help me today to keep a positive outlook on this life. I want what YOU want for my life. Please don’t ever let me make a CALL when I’m feeling down. I know at this age that feelings can change quickly! Amen
