Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
1 Corinthians 10:24
No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
Once again, St. Paul spoke to the issue of freedom with the young church at Corinth. He said that he was indeed free, but that he didn’t want to use his freedom to cause someone else to slip spiritually. That’s why he said, “Instead of me taking care of myself, I always try and Make It Happen For Others.”
There’s such fulfillment in living a life that stretches beyond one’s own desires and wishes into a world of being a blessing to others. You’ve known people who were all about THEM. It was all about THEM. What they wanted. Trying to make THEM happy. They were the people in the room that sucked all the life out when they were gone. But then you’ve known someone else who lived their life to bless others. I’m not saying they didn’t take care of their family, but they were the person who always went the extra mile for the OTHER guy. That’s the person I want to be. I think that’s who St. Paul was. It was the Apostle’s desire to “Make It Happen For Others.” And because he did, we’re still reading about him 2,000 years later. Let’s you and me today decide today to “Make It Happen For Others.”
Let my choices today be for others and not just for me. I want to be like You. I want to “Make It Happen For Others.” Amen
