It’s Time To Honor Our Spiritual Leaders

Lamentations 4:16b

The priests are shown no honor, the elders no favor.

These are the words of Jeremiah’s sorrowful lament. He knew that one of the reasons Israel had rejected the Lord was because they had arrived at such a rebellious state that they had no regard for spiritual leadership in their life. Here he says, “The priests are shown no honor, the elders no favor.”

It’s no wonder that a nation begins to decay and erode when they give God little or no place in their lives. When Jesus calls us out of darkness and into His marvelous light, it usually happens through a man or woman of faith who leads the way out. Then the person who has found Jesus is taken to a healthy church to be lifted up and encouraged in their most holy faith. That is usually accomplished by priests (pastors) and elders. Those in spiritual authority both male and female. The purpose of these spiritual leaders is to teach us the ways of the Lord. When I was a little boy my parents cherished spiritual leaders and taught me to do the same. Our family is strong today because of the value we have placed on spiritual leaders. For our family, it’s always “Time To Honor Our Spiritual Leaders!”

Dear Jesus,

Thank You this morning for the spiritual leaders You have placed in my path through the years to lead me and guide me to You. Amen
