Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
So Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord commanded through Moses.
As Aaron and his sons were facing the first-ever ordination into the priesthood, they were asked to stand before the tent of meeting for seven days in a row to complete their ordination. These were 24-hour days. They were not to leave the tent of meeting. During that time, they were to perform their priestly duties and not waver. This was done with no break, and God promised death to the one that failed in this ordination process. The Bible says Aaron and his sons completed the directive with no flaws. It was as if they were saying, “I’m Willing, Lord.”
When I read this passage, all I can say is, “Thank God I live in an age of New Testament Grace.” The stringent laws of the Old Testament and the ways they were enforced causes one to wonder how anyone could possibly live up to them. And, to be honest, seldom did anyone live up to these laws. Those who did became self-righteous in most instances. But here, instead of walking away from their father and their God, Aaron’s sons stayed the course. They said, “I’m Willing, Lord.” Today there is a heavenly call going out across the land asking for workers who are willing to answer the call of God. I’m not saying you will have to stay in your local church for seven straight 24-hour days without sleep, working the work of the church. All I’m saying is that God is looking for people like you and me, who no matter what He asks of us will say, “I’m Willing, Lord!”
I’m no better than the next person, but I am certainly willing to answer Your call. “I’m Willing, Lord.” Amen
