I Can’t, And That’s Why I Serve Him

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Job 11:7
Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
O-bservation:
Job, the suffering servant of the Lord, had come to the point in his life where he wasn’t sure if he could take the pain another day. He complained to his three friends in a maniacal way, asking why God had ever made him. Finally, one of his friends, Zophar, stepped in to defend the Lord and asked Job if he could possibly figure God out? He asked, “Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?”
A-pplication:
I’ve often said that we mortals are convinced that our Heavenly Father needs people who will defend Him on this side of heaven. I’ve often said, “God is God all by Himself and He doesn’t need anyone defending Him.” But the truth is, we feel a need to defend our great God. We even have classes in Christian Universities on being Christian Apologists. There is this continual need to know God better, to explain Him better, to be able to debate in an open exchange without feeling like we’re walking on thin ice. In the end, however, after you think you’ve defended Jesus in open forum, it’s then you really need a bigger vision of who Jesus is. I’ve had friends like Zophar who have taken me on in debate and it’s gotten nasty, but finally, like Zophar, they ask me, “Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?” It’s then that I usually respond by saying, “I Can’t, And That’s Why I Serve Him!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’ll never be able to figure You out entirely. That’s why I serve You with my whole heart. Amen
