Here’s What I Know For Sure

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

This passage is written with sheer confidence. Here’s one verse that is quoted by children in diapers and adults as well. This Hebrews passage is used by people who don’t know Scripture, but who can quote certain scriptures at a moment’s notice. Why? Because “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” is the kind of Bible verse a person hears so many times that they walk away thinking in their heads, “Here’s What I Know For Sure.”

Here’s what you and I have either read about happening or have witnessed it happening in our lifetime. Kingdoms and nations have come, and kingdoms and nations have gone. I’m not sure which one will be next. Kings and rulers and despots and presidents have come, and they have gone. I’m not really sure which one will be next. Wealthy men and women who were in the news as if they would always be around are now dead and gone. I can’t say who will be next. Companies and businesses and enterprises that once dominated the news are now gone and over. Who can say which ones will survive in the future? What men and women once did every day, is now being slowly replaced and done by artificial intelligence. Who’s to say if AI will one day dominate the future or if this is just a passing fancy? In America, the Christian Church once dominated the political landscape. Will the Church go away in the future entirely, or just slowly become less and less influential? This is hard to prognosticate. “Here’s What I Know For Sure.” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I’m am so overjoyed because, of all the things and people that have changed over the centuries, the one person who has not changed, and I know it for sure is, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Amen
