Here Today Gone Tomorrow

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 8:9

For we were born only yesterday and know nothing, and our days on earth are but a shadow.

O-bservation:

When people around the world suffer, they usually think of the Old Testament figure named Job. When he made this statement Job was at a lowly and ignominious state of living, and he realized that although his life seemed huge to him in the history of things it was as if he was, “Here Today And Gone Tomorrow.”

A-pplication:

For however long this brief devotional will be read in time, it’s important for me to note that my dear brother-in-law passed into heaven earlier this week. I remember introducing him to my wife’s sister in 1980, and they were married later that year. He’s gone now! He lived a full life. Yes he and we would have loved it to have been longer. But how much longer? Ten, twenty, or thirty years? Even so, he would be gone eventually just like you and me. Life is brief. Here’s this billionaire of his day, Job, who ruled in his corner of the world in a large way, but he knew life was limited. I’m impressed today to live whatever time I have left to the FULL. I’m impressed not to waste ONE day. I want to squeeze every last ounce of life out of the life God has given me. You should join me. Because here’s what I know, you and I are “Here Today And Gone Tomorrow.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m all for You. I understand that is why I was placed on this planet. You are my Lord. I worship You this day and I know that You do all things well. I don’t always understand, but I’m ready to learn. Amen
