Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.”
This is an absolutely wonderful command by Jesus to His disciples. Think about it. He had died on a cross, He had risen from the dead, He had appeared to His disciples where they were hiding behind closed doors for fear of the Jews, and He now appeared to His disciples on the beach one morning where they were sailing in from a long night of no fish caught. He said, “Cast your nets on the other side.” They did and had such a catch they needed help bringing in the haul of fish! When they arrived on the beach, Jesus had built a fire and was cooking fish. He said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” When I read this, the first question that comes to my mind is, “He COOKS Too?”
I have often said in these AM devotionals that Jesus is the greatest “SERVANT LEADER” to have ever walked the face of the earth. At the core of every real “SERVANT LEADER” is an inner drive to help people no matter what it costs them. After doing everything to serve and help people while He lived on earth, at the end of His journey and before His ascension into heaven, He commanded His disciples to come eat breakfast, which He had just cooked for them. Jesus never lived His life “Having To,” instead He lived His life “Getting To.” You mean, “He COOKS Too?” You better believe He cooks!
It’s early, and I’m hungry! I wish You were sitting in front of me. This time I’d cook for You. Amen
