God Owes Me Nothing
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Job 41:11
Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me.
O-bservation:
God continued his indictment of Job and all of his complaining. He asked Job if he knew of anyone on earth who had a claim against the Lord. After He asked Job that question, He then said, “By the way, everything and anything and anyone on the entire planet belongs to me!”
A-pplication:
Have you ever had a point in your existence when you said, “I feel like God owes me?” I’ve talked to hundreds of people in my life who have a beef with God. They blame him for everything. But the real truth is, “God Owes Me Nothing!” Think about the intricate nervous system you possess and your vital organs and your sight and hearing and cognitive ability and the fact that you have volition and a will. That’s no accident. That didn’t just happen. Think about the earth’s orbit around the sun and the climate that keeps you from burning up or freezing to death. Think about your water supply and food. Think about the one person in the world other than Jesus himself, who you know loves you. I’m telling you everything that you and I have has been given to us by the one who owns everything on the planet. So the time for wondering why you and I don’t have more is the time we should each say, “God Owes Me Nothing!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I have no complaints, and all I want to say is, “Thanks For Everything!” Amen
