Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”
This was Jesus responding to the Jewish leaders who were judging Him for healing the man by the pool of Bethesda. He had done this miracle on the sabbath, and these religious leaders were very upset and antagonistic towards him. He simply said, “My Father is always at work to this very day, and I am working too.”
When God rested on the seventh day of creation, it was a modeling of what humans must do to be refreshed in body, mind, and spirit every week. Yet the scripture tells us that God NEVER sleeps or even slumbers (gets tired Ps. 121:4), because in some parts of the world, as I write, it’s already tomorrow. It is God’s very being that emanates the energy and authority and resource that lights the world each day. He is constantly working, day and night, and so Jesus said, “I only do what my Father does” (vs.19). We are the servants of the most high GOD! Never a second goes by that He is not totally alert and concerned about what is happening on every square inch of planet earth. To every individual who is alive right now and breathing air, it is imperative that we know our great God is focused on us at every turn. That brings me to YOU! Never forget this strong word of encouragement. “God Never Sleeps On Your Problem!”
This AM, my friend and I are so very grateful that You never sleep, and You never slumber. You are alive, and You are alert to our every need and concern. We are blessed today to know that You are in control. Amen
