From Sad To Glad

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 1:24

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

O-bservation:

Joseph was the foster father of Jesus. As we all know, Jesus was the Son of God conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Yet when Joseph became aware of this irrational presentation by his betrothed wife Mary, he was quite brokenhearted. He did not lose his control but intended to divorce her privately. He then had a visitation by an angel who explained to Joseph that Mary truly was carrying the Christ child. When he woke up, he did the right thing, married Mary, and raised Jesus as his son.

A-pplication:

How many times have you had the perfect dream about to come to pass in your life, and suddenly news came from out of nowhere that rattled your heavenly dream? It’s happened to me on an occasion or two, but certainly not to this extreme. Joseph had found the love of his life, and after a courtship, finds she’s pregnant. He KNOWS he’s not the biological father!! He was rattled to the very core of his being. He decided that he would not publicly disgrace her but would certainly end this relationship. Then an angel appeared to him in a dream. In a moment, he went “From Sad To Glad.” Oh, I could talk for a long time, but this is a short post. I want to say that someone is reading this right now who is about to go “From Sad To Glad.” Why? Because you haven’t given up on God. You may be sad, but hold on because GLAD is on the way.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I thank You that today I’m living GLAD! Yet I know I have a friend who is reading this post who is living SAD. Please, I pray, bring the GLAD back into their life beginning today. Amen
