Divine Favor

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 39:12

“Take him and look after him; don’t harm him but do for him whatever he asks.”

O-bservation:

After Jeremiah had been beaten and thrown into prison in his own land for prophesying things his people didn’t want to hear, Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, captured Jerusalem. He told his men to release Jeremiah, do him no harm, and give him anything he asked for.

A-pplication:

Any time a foreign, heathen king who has come to a city to do nothing more than burn it to the ground tells his associates that they are to set loose the man of God and give him anything he asks for, it’s obvious that man of God has just experienced “Divine Favor.” Often, when there’s a word of “Divine Favor,” we’re talking about someone who has prospered financially. But that’s not always the case. “Divine Favor” has to do with coming out of an impossible situation simply because you’re faithfully serving the Lord and He smiles on you. You’re never sure when it will happen. But as a “Follower of Jesus,” you stay hopeful that when you need it, the Lord will show you His “Divine Favor.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m thankful that You’re always taking care of me. For me, that’s “Divine Favor.” When I need a little extra to put me over the top, well I’m hoping for that too. Amen
