DEEDS, Good Ones Can’t Be Hidden
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Timothy 5:25
In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden forever.
O-bservation:
In writing this first of two letters to Timothy, Paul had been discussing how to handle elders who had sinned. He said the sins of some are obvious, while some take longer to be discovered. But then he addressed the other end of the discussion which had to do with good deeds. And his conclusion was, “DEEDS, Good Ones Can’t Be Hidden.”
A-pplication:
I’ve lived long enough to be able to observe over a decent period of time. One thing I have learned is that the above passage is true! Really true!! Whoever you are in your heart, or whatever you do in a secret way whether good or bad, will eventually come out. You can bolster a hypocrite for a period of time and try and make excuses as to why they didn’t really mean that, but eventually their shadiness will be revealed. On the other hand, you can watch a person do good over and over again. They can just be living their life, but what is on the inside of them just keeps coming out of them in the form of GOOD. Good loving, good giving, good serving, whatever seems to be good that’s what they do and who they are. Maybe they tried to keep it a secret, and I know many who have, but eventually here’s the deal .. “DEEDS, Good Ones Can’t Be Hidden.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With Your help, I want to live good, be good, and do good. There’s enough bad in this world. Help me not to go there except to help. Amen
