As Long As Jesus Is Being Promoted

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Philippians 1:18
But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.
O-bservation:
From a prison cell in Rome, St. Paul wrote the newly established church at Philippi. He told them in earlier verses that he knew the gospel of Jesus was being preached and promoted in some cases through men who were preaching for self-promotional and other selfish reasons. But Paul said to the Philippian Christians, “As Long As Jesus Is Being Promoted,” what does it matter?
A-pplication:
That may be a difficult statement by the Apostle Paul to figure out, but it goes along with the Old Testament words of the prophet Isaiah. In Isaiah 55:11, the prophet reminded us that the word of the Lord, when promoted, will not return empty. In the book of Numbers, God used a donkey to preach to the phony prophet named Balaam. The point is that anytime God’s word is preached, it will bear fruit. Even when many preachers and teachers are preaching a false doctrine from what is written in God’s word, somehow God will turn it around for His favor. We who preach the Word of God must be willing to bring correction and reproof and rebuke in order to win the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. But make no mistake, not everyone who preaches the gospel is being fair to what the Scripture teaches. Even so, this passage says that is not our worry, “As Long As Jesus Is Being Promoted.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know I don’t have to answer for false teachers and promoters of Your word, but I’m asking that You help me to promote the gospel with a pure and humble heart. Amen
