Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.
In this first chapter to the young church at Colossae, St. Paul laid down the case for Christ’s supreme authority. Paul stated that because of Christ’s death and resurrection, you and I can now be presented to God as holy people, without any blemish, and “Accusation Free!”
I’m grateful to the Lord that He has cleansed me from sin and made me holy unto Him. Yet the ability of Jesus to make us “Accusation Free” is seldom promoted. Of course, this does not mean we will never be ACCUSED while living here on earth, but it does mean that in God’s eyes the ACCUSATIONS will not stand. I can honestly say there has never been a time in my life when ACCUSATIONS have ever been thrown out against all fellow countrymen and women like they are now. The “blame game” throttle has been exponentially pressed to the floor to ensure everyone has messed up at one time or another. As I write, we’re STILL in COVID-19 lockdown. It’s been nearly four months since we’ve been in the building that houses our church family. I’ve had nightmares of going back to church and people at the door checking my credentials to see if I pass inspections to be let back in. Yikes! What’s that all about? Inevitably, it’s a lack of dependence upon the Jesus we serve to take care of us. For those of us who have sold out to Him, our reliance is completely upon Him. No matter what others may think of you or me, we must, in the end, KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that when it comes to our Lord, we are “Accusation Free” in His sight.
I’m Yours. I keep saying that because it’s all I really have to hope for. Relationships, money, notoriety, respect, and education have all let me down, but YOU have never failed. I’m Yours! Amen
