A Blessing And Not A Burden

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Corinthians 12:14
Now I am ready to visit you for the third time, and I will not be a burden to you, because what I want is not your possessions but you. After all, children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
O-bservation:
St. Paul wrote to the young church at Corinth to say that he was coming to visit them a third time. He wanted them to know that he would not be a burden to them financially because he didn’t want what they had; he just wanted them. Just like parents are not supposed to be a burden to their children. Parents save up for their children so that they can always be, “A Blessing And Not A Burden.”
A-pplication:
Today is Easter Sunday! Paul had learned from his Lord and Savior Jesus that wherever you are and wherever you go, be a blessing and not a burden. When Jesus arrived in a certain place, he was forever providing for those He was with. Whether it was to make more wine for a wedding, or multiply five loaves and two fish to feed five thousand folks, or to raise a young man back to life in order to comfort his widowed mother, Jesus was always “A Blessing And Not A Burden.” That’s what Easter is for me. The fact that Jesus came to give His life to ransom my soul from eternal death means that I can’t possibly be, as a follower of Jesus, a taker. No! I must be on a mission to be a blessing. I don’t want my children to have to see me as a burden, so with the Lord’s help, I lay a little aside here and there so that after these many years, when I go to heaven, they’ll receive a blessing and not a burden. That’s Easter. This day is all about being, “A Blessing And Not A Burden.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for Your death, burial, and resurrection. Because of Your sacrifice, my faith has always been about being a blessing and not a burden. Amen
