Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Job 1:1
In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
O-bservation:
With the opening of the book of Job, the writer introduces Job as being a person who was “Blameless And Upright.”
A-pplication:
Have ever you met a person like Job in your life before? My father was Job, minus the money and the turmoil. I’m not saying Dad wasn’t ever tested, but certainly not to the degree that stopped the internet dead in its tracks. Dad was one of those individuals you could always count on to do the right thing. He was admired by men who couldn’t seem to live up to his standard, but they didn’t feel guilty about it they just felt honored to know him. What impressed me about my father was that he NEVER wavered. He lived with a “Holy Code” that shamed the devil. I miss my dad today, but his presence lives on in the fact that he was “Blameless And Upright.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m asking You today to help me live in such a way that when I’m gone a simple “Blameless And Upright” memory will remain in the hearts of my children. Amen
